Blocks for a Charity Quilt
Now that the Salt Lake Modern Quilt Guild has grown into a nice active group, we decided that we were ready to start our first charity quilt. To ease the pressure of perfection, we decided to use the wonky star block-no corners need to match. My blocks: To the best that I can recollect, this is the first time that I’ve participated in a group charity quilt. I never wanted quilting to feel like an [...]

Starting a New Quilt
For Christmas, I received a candy bar pack of City Weekends. I thought about turning it into a table runner, but decided it was better suited for a baby quilt. The checkerboard design came together quickly. You gotta love pre-cut fabric. After working with the fabric, I decided that I really didn’t love the fabric. I don’t dislike it. However, I didn’t pull together a photo shoot. On Saturday, Ross helped me get the ball [...]

A Cozy Home for My Nook
It’s amazing what I can accomplish when I don’t have committments outside of work. After blogging last night, I got to work on finishing my Nook case. I cut down the fabric and started quilting. Since I only need a scrap-size piece of batting, I had many choices to choose from. I went with fusible batting. It was very easy to work with and didn’t require any pinning. Originally, I planned on quilting a stippling design. [...]

What’s Up with WordPress
I just published a couple of posts that were stuck in draft status when I thought they published. I really need to be careful. So even though the content is out of order, all of it is there. I mostly do this for my own sake. It makes me feel better to see my projects move along. Really I need to figure out how to change the post dates. Then my content will appear in [...]
