Weekend Quilting Progress
Over the weekend, I made a bit of progress on the checkerboard quilt. The middle is quilted with a cross-hatch design. I need to bury the threads and quilt the border. I’m planning on using a pebble design. I can’t decide if the quilt is too white. I may have gotten stuck on the thought of using a solid so that the printed fabric could stand out. The back and the binding is a bright [...]

Slow Going
Well this week has been slow going in the sewing department. I’m trying to stay focuses on 1-2 projects. Normally, I get side tracked by new projects when I’m in a transition phase with an active project. So while I was waiting for my fabric to get here, I started to sew my yo-yo’s together. Eventually, they will grow up into a throw pillow for our bed. Lucky for me, the mail carrier finally delivered [...]

It’s Back
Saturday morning, I picked up my machine from the dealer and quickly put it to work. The tune-up was money well spent. I now get perfectly even stitches and zero tension problems. Yea for me! Liebster Award
Last week, Brooke from Pitter Putter Stitch passed on some blog love by awarding me the Liebster Blog award. Now it’s my turn to pass on this little award. I’ve nominated a few blogs that I’ve recently discovered. First up is Sandie at Sleepy Owl Studios. Sandie is a member of the bee that I just joined. Recently she’s made a New Wave quilt out of Castle Peeps fabric. It’s very cute. I like how [...]

Impulse Purchase
Today I made an impulse purchase. I blame Annemarie from Gen X Quilters. Today she wrote about labels she ordered through Sweetwater. Before I knew it I landed on Sweetwater’s Label Crew website and I signed myself up for the Label Crew Club. All my reasons supporting an impulse purchase: First, I immeditately liked the labels. The designs feel fresh and contemporary. Second, I’ve wanted my own labels for some time. I’ve even tried making [...]

My First Quilt Bee Block
At the end of the year, I decided that I wanted to participate in a quilt bee. I hopped on over to the Quilting Bee Blocks flickr group, and posted a note that I was looking for a bee. Within 24 hours, I received a message reply, and I joined a the {Modern 12} Bee. Without further ado, my first bee block: In this bee, we are using our own fabric. The queen bee for [...]
