New Iron
I just bought a new iron. I realize most people wouldn’t consider a new iron worthy blog fodder. I’m not most people. I’m a quilter. A quilter without an iron is a quilter with wonky quilts. I don’t want wonky quilts. So when my iron died on Sunday, I began the quest for a new iron. Now I have high expectations from my iron. I want an iron that can conquer linen and last a [...]

iPod Case
Two years ago, I tried to make an iPod case. My first attempt didn’t meet my needs. I’ve been meaning to give it another go, but I haven’t gotten around to it. Then I saw Petchy’s tutorial and I saw the light. Her iPod case looked a lot easier to make than my own. Now Petchy’s measurements are for an iPod Nano w/video. I have a first generation nano. The Right Balance
Since I’ve got my digital camera three years ago, I’ve been on a quest to get the right light. I know I’m not on this quest alone. I’ve read my fair share of blog entries about taking good photos. In my quest I’ve bought good lights and made a light light. Yet I’m still unsatisfied with my results. Last week, I started to read Rick Sammon’s Complete Guide to Digital Photography. While the book is [...]

Bibs, Bibs, and More Bibs
Baby season is in full swing, and I’m way behind on gifts. After weighing available time against demand, I decided that I needed something easier than quilts, thus the bibs. So after two weeks on sewing here and there, this is what I have: Only six bibs are complete. I need to sew up 8 more. Really sewing them up is the easy part. Selecting fabrics is the real challenge. I decided that I needed [...]
