I Like What I See
I’m half way through piecing my latest quilt. So far, I’m really happy with the way it is turning out. It feels balanced. Piecing a quilt with large blocks is fast work.

High Hopes
It seems like I start every weekend with high hopes that I’ll have a ton of time to sew and create a master piece. In reality, the realities of life (you know grocery shopping, church responsibilities, yard work, etc.) usually end up taking a larger portion of my time than I care to admit. Slow Going
Since I finished my last quilt, my quilting/sewing took a nose dive. I have managed a few little things. First, I quilted the doll quilt that I started several years ago. However, both blocks have curved lines that are made by folding the fabric on [...]

Christmas Throw Pillows
I finally turned the hexagon blocks into pillows. The finished pillow is 24″ square. The pillow insert part is 18″ square. For the picture, I used some other pillows for the inserts. I’ll get the correct pillow inserts before Christmas. I quilted the top with a holly and berry motif mixed in with loops. The first pillow is ok. The second one is better. I actually can see an improvement in my free motion quilting [...]

A-maze-ing I
As I mentioned a few weeks ago, a childhood video game, A-maz-ing, inspired my latest quilting project. I thought it would be cool to make a quilt that was a maze. And I was right. I love it. The finished squares are 1″ and 1.5″ unfinished. Then I added a 1.5 unfinished border. When I squared up the quilt, I lost a bit of white border. I wish the white border was a bit larger. [...]
