I Love My Quilt
Late Saturday night, I sewed the last stitch in the binding. From start to end it took four hours to attach the binding. I sewed both sides by machine starting my sewing it to the front first. This method worked out better for me than sewing the binding on the back first. Does that make sense? And here it is on my bed:
I had zero luck in getting a picture without cats. I was out numbered. They like the quilt just as much as I do. The wool batt is nice and cozy to sleep under. It was also a dream to quilt. I’d definitely use it again on special quilts.
I feel a bit like Goldilocks. The quilt is a little big. I’m not sure what I was thinking. Our previous quilt was a bit small. So I’m sure I over compensated. The next quilt will be just right.
Finishing this quilt left me feeling a bit lost. It has consumed much of my time and mental energy. Luckily, I started a new quilt at Sewing Saturday. There’s always more fabric to put to good use.

I love it! And I love the pillows. My queen quilt ended up a tad small. I’ll just have to make another one.
Thanks! I think it’s hard to judge a proper quilt size with pillow top mattresses.
I love it too! I hope you will show it off on Thursday.
It will be there. I just need to take a lint roller to it to remove the cat fur.
Your quilt is beautiful, the cats must know a great quilt when they see one.
I’ve just looked back through your posts, I love your use of colour and pattern, you have made some beautiful things.
Thanks for the kind words. I’m really happy with the colors on this quilt. It has some “pretty” elements without being too much for my husband.
After all the hard work the cats put into making this quilt I’m sure they believe they have the right to sit on it. Stunning!
I’m pretty sure they’re claiming ownership. All of them had their claws firmly attached to the quilt. Good move on their part since I didn’t want to rip the quilt.
