It’s Pie Time

For me Thanksgiving is a really good excuse to make pies. I love pie. In fact my whole family takes pies serious. I’m not sure when this fascination became a fascination. I have childhood memories of making pies, mostly apple and pumpkin. After I got married, I began started making pies for Thanksgiving. Before I knew it I was buying special pie making gadgets and a cookbook with over 300 recipes.

This fascination has carried over to the next generation in our family. When I visited my sister and her family this summer. My niece gave me this picture.

She loves pies. This year, I’m making two pumpkin pies, an apple pie, and a pecan pie. So far the pumpkin pies are done.

Tomorrow I’ll whip up the apple pie and the pecan pie. I even bought a new apple peeler/slicer.
