Bed Quilt: Nearly Done
When I started making a new quilt for our bed, I thought it would be nice to document the process, starting with the Cutting into Pieces post. My plan didn’t happen. I can live with that because I did make a lot of progress on the project. Today, I’ll bring the blog up to speed.
Stacks of squares turned into piles of triangles and strips of lattice.

Piles of triangles turned back into stacks of squares.

I love the pile of scraps from trimming the squares.

Stacks of squares form a huge rectangle. Calypso and I work together to get everything laid out perfectly.

Then the hard part starts, sewing all the squares into columns and rows. This part of the process nearly drove me insane. I talked myself into sewing so many rows a week to keep the project moving. I’m glad I did it. Look what I have, a complete quilt top.

I’m quite pleased. The actual quilting won’t be done until after Christmas. I’m not in a huge rush, and I don’t want a quilter to working on this in the middle of the Christmas rush. The next big update is a couple of months away.

[...] new quilt has plenty of color, and I don’t want the walls to compete with my work of art. I prefer the beige on the right. [...]
