Gingerbread Men in Assembly Line

Because the holidays aren’t busy enough, I decided to participate in a holiday block swap. The subject: Gingerbread Men. Lots of them. At first, we agreed to make 12. Some how that number has increased to 16, which really isn’t that big of a deal. Here’s what I’ve got so far.

I’m in the progress of attaching ric rac, or I should say pre-attaching. I’m gluing it in place with Roxanne’s glue. Then I’ll sew it down. Tonight I realized that all my embellishments are red. This wasn’t my original plan. Unfortunately, I’ve been unable to find what I want in the color I want. For example, I wanted an off-white/ercu mini ric rac. I could only find bright white. It was too bright against the brown body. I settled for red. Now the scarf is red, the hat is red, and the beads for the body buttons are red. I think it’s a little too much red. I’m going to switch out the red beads for dark brown beads. The big deadline is November 19. I hope I still like them by then.
