Ugh!

I almost forgot my final post for the month. I got wrapped up in getting ready for the night. Then I realized I had yet to write anything today. So, this will be a pictureless post. Yes, I know. Boring!

Final thoughts on posting for a month:

  • It feels good to write everyday.
  • When I actually make something, my posts are even better.
  • might need a new camera. My camera doesn’t capture red very well. It’s starting to annoy me.
  • I’m glad I blog.

Well I’m going to take a few days off. I’m making something that I’m excited to share in a few day.

A Bit of R & R

Today, I finally took time to do a bit of nothing. I’m not one for sitting around on Saturday, but the last two days have worn me out. Actually for doing a lot of nothing, I accomplished a lot. The day started by reading my book club book, One True Thing. We meet on Thursday. So I really needed to get going. Regardless, I didn’t intend to read the whole book. However, an hour here and there led to a finished book. Yea!

Reading was interrupted by racking the last of the leaves, eating pie (pumpkin for breakfast and apple for lunch), sorting through the Christmas lights, and a bit of hand sewing. I’m making progress on my little hexagons.

Tomorrow, I’m breaking out the Christmas decor.

Less Energy Than Yesterday

If i wasn’t so close to completing my daily blogging goal, I’d skip this post and go straight to bed. Alas, I’m so close I can count the remaining days on one hand. For as long as I can remember, the day after Thanksgiving is all about shopping. I’m not referring to the crazy before dawn shopping. Our shopping is more about serious girl fun. I believe the fun started as a way to celebrate a couple of birthdays, my mom’s and grandma’s.

Every year we gather at a local mall and shop until we can’t move. Normally the biggest dilemma is which make up brand has the best blockbuster make up package. This year, Lancôme won out. The beautiful thing about a tight economy is better customer service. It’s a case of survival of the fittest. Lancôme had a great make-up artist that made us all want to buy expensive make-up so we’d look great every day. Now we just need to find the make-up artist that does house calls.

Great pictures will come soon.

Not Enough Energy

I don’t have enough energy to write a post that would do the day justice. So I leave with a picture of my grandma playing the Wii for the first time. More pictures will come later.

It’s Pie Time

For me Thanksgiving is a really good excuse to make pies. I love pie. In fact my whole family takes pies serious. I’m not sure when this fascination became a fascination. I have childhood memories of making pies, mostly apple and pumpkin. After I got married, I began started making pies for Thanksgiving. Before I knew it I was buying special pie making gadgets and a cookbook with over 300 recipes.

This fascination has carried over to the next generation in our family. When I visited my sister and her family this summer. My niece gave me this picture.

She loves pies. This year, I’m making two pumpkin pies, an apple pie, and a pecan pie. So far the pumpkin pies are done.

Tomorrow I’ll whip up the apple pie and the pecan pie. I even bought a new apple peeler/slicer.

A Sea of Green

I can’t give too many specifics. I’m in the midst of turning this fabric into a gift.

After I took the picture, I realized that I there’s a lot of green in the room. Kind of nice since the nice pretty green leaves have all gone away.
