Halloween Remembered

Me: Wonder Woman, my sister: Bat Girl.

This is by far one of my most favorite Halloween costumes. Looking back, I think man I had guts to wear that costume. There’s probably a better adjective than “guts”, but it escapes me now. I never was one for princess/fairy costumes. They didn’t suit my personality.

Happy Halloween!

Autumn is Relative

This morning, I woke to this sight out my front door.

When the weather forecast predicted snow, I thought it was a slight exaggeration. I mean it’s the first half of October. We haven’t even had the first frost. It seem plausible to snow in the mountains and get frost in the valley. I was so wrong. One point for the weather forecasters. Zero for me. I’m not fretting to much. The snow was gone by noon, and the week looks like typical mid-fall weather. I’ll just have to bundle up for my ride into work.

I am trying to embrace the change in season. Last weekend, I made a wreath for our front door. It looks alright considering flower arranging really isn’t my thing.

Then I made a Halloween garland for our front door. The idea is from Kansas City Esty Street Team. I found the link via whipup. Amazingly, I had everything on hand to make it, including the ribbon. It came together without any fuss. Most importantly, I like the way it turned out. Halloween isn’t my favorite holiday. I’m always pleased when I can try to embrace the holiday without a lot of grief.
