My Treasures from Anthropologie
I’m back from my week in Portland, OR. I have lots to share. First up: my Anthropologie finds. OK, I know that Anthropologie isn’t unique to Portland. In fact, I can visit Anthropologie right here in Salt Lake. However, I never allow myself an hour or so to touch all the pretty stuff. In Portland, I had plenty of time to convince myself that I couldn’t live without a thing or two.
Find No. 1: A pretty bowl.

I believe this bowl was intended to be a cereal bowl, but not in my house. I’m using it as a soap bowl for pretty bars of handmade soap. It looks perfect in my upstairs bathroom.
Find No. 2: A key hook

I’m still looking for the perfect place to install this. A couple of places are contenders. I’m think that I need a little shelf to place over it to store things like my sunglasses and such. You know the stuff that tends to clutter the table and counters. Then I’ll just need to convince Ross to use it.
Find No. 3: Pretty measuring cups.

Now just prior to our trip, I told Ross we needed new measuring cups. I no longer have a 1/2 cup measuring cup, which is odd since we’ve had at least 3 sets of measuring cups in the duration of our marriage. It looked liked Anthropologie satified my need for cute + function. Then for some reason I decided to verify the accuracy of these measuring cups. Much to my dismay, they’re far for accurate. Look for yourself.

The 1/4 cup hold more than 1/3 cup of water. The 1/2 holds close to 3/4 cup of water. I’m so sad. I really like these. Tomorrow I’m returning them. My quest for cup measuring cups will continue. I wonder if their other sets are more accurate or if I should just resign myself and go to either Sur la Table or Williams and Sonoma. Oh the dilema I have.

I am not 100% accurate, but I think dry measuring cups hold more liquid than the dry counterparts. I have always used liquid measuring cups and dry cups separately and have had problems with more liquid being in the item than if i had used a liquid cup.
Have you tried Martha Stewart land? You may find something attractive there. I agree with the wet/dry that Kim pointed out. Try it before your return these!
