Bibs, Bibs, and More Bibs
Mar 9, 2008 Sewing
Baby season is in full swing, and I’m way behind on gifts. After weighing available time against demand, I decided that I needed something easier than quilts, thus the bibs. So after two weeks on sewing here and there, this is what I have:

Only six bibs are complete. I need to sew up 8 more. Really sewing them up is the easy part. Selecting fabrics is the real challenge. I decided that I needed to use fabrics from my stash or else the stash won’t deplete it’s self. Many of the babies are boy. I have nothing against boy babies, but I don’t seem to buy a lot of little boy fabric, thus the wide range of fabric style. Hopefully, the moms will just be glad to have a few extra bibs around the house.
Details:
- I used quilt cotton and flannel.
- Each bib is lined with diaper flannel. I hoping this adds extra absorption.
- Prior to sewing the bib is approximately 11″ x 14″
- I used this bib pattern, view B.
- Instead of edging the bibs with bias tape, I just sewed the bibs inside out and flipped, one less notion to buy.
Will I make more in the future? I’m waiting to see how well these are received.
