C is for Cats
After seven years of marriage Ross and I decided that we were responsible enough to own cats. Actually the conversation on the way to work went more like this:
Ross: Why don’t we have any pets?
Me: I don’t know.
Ross: Don’t you think that it’s odd that we don’t have a pet.
Me: No
Ross: Well I think we should get a cat.
Two week later we adopted Cedric and Penelope.

After living with us for 18 months, Penelope died of heart failure. That tramatic event lead to us adopting Calypso, a healthy engergic kitten, who is now 1 year old.

Our cats come into our life at just the right moment. Ross was in between jobs, working freelance stuff while looking for a job. Consequently he spent a lot of time alone at home. I think having the cats around kept him from going completly insane.
While I’ve always considered myself a cat person, I can’t believe how much I enjoy having Cedric and Calypso in my life. They make our house feel more like a home. There is nothing like being greet at the door by a furry creature. Mind you I do get a little frustrated when I come home from work and I find that they’ve destroyed a book marker just because it had a nice piece of string attached to it.
When we finally sell our condo and buy a house, I won’t be surprised when Ross wants to adopt another cat. He likes having them around

I would totally be the crazy cat lady if I could. Alas, I’ve just got my one.
Any ideas of what class you’re going to register for at the university?
Know that you’re VERY missed when you’re not at work.
Kitties and Doggies are wonderful! Couldn’t live without them. Yours are very cute.
