My First Pincushion
Jun 14, 2007 Sewing
OK, I know I’m a little late to join the pincushion craze. I had the best of intentions to make pincushions before now. For some reason it just didn’t happen until I found myself wanting to do something by hand and holding this pattern (by Blooming Stitches) in my hand. It all came together.

Of course I’ve added my own personal touch to my pincushion. Iused new hand dyed flossed that was burning a hole in my pocket, and I added the buttons to control the puffiness.
All it needs now are some flower pins or maybe I should make my own special pin. I’ve seen others use that shrink a dink stuff and sculty clay. My niece will be in town soon. I bet I could talk her into playing with clay.

Now that is just down right cute! I’m not sure what buttons you’re talking about , but it doesn’t look too puffy to me. I could so see myself making one with charm squares since they’re 5″x5″. Is this the beginning of a pincushion craze?

I think the pin cushion looks really good. I think it’s so nice to make something a bit smaller than usual as you get that feeling of satisfaction when it’s completed.
