Prototype iPod Nano Case

I love my iPod Nano. Without it, I would never be able to put work out in the gym. I know I’m a wimp. In the gym, I use an armband to hold my nano. Outside the gym, I dont’ have a solution. I started to look at various cases. There are a lot of cute cases out there. However none of them are cheap. Expensive cases enforce my belief that iPods are accessory money pits.

Solution: make my own case. Why not? I’ve got plenty of fabric and the talent. In designing my cases, I decided that I didn’t want to make a clear front just yet. I need to work through the design. So what did I end up with?

While it isn’t perfect, I like what I’ve got so far. I need to fix three things.

  • Make the tab a little longer.
  • Sew the loop to the same side as the tab closure.
  • Add some dimension to the loop. Eventually, I’m going to use a carabiner clip to attach the iPod to me. Right now, a carabiner clip won’t fit in the loop.

Work is going to consume my week. Then Ross and I are going to run away for the weekend. Version 2 will be made next Sunday or Monday. Something to look forward to.
