A Field of Flowers

A finished a quilt. Yes! The binding took forever to attach. I guess I needed better movies from Netflix. Then I needed to wash it. I broken down and used pencil to make some of the quilting designs. The marks washed out. Finally, I hung the quilt for a snapshot.

A Field of Flowers

In the “Back Room”, I have a quilting hanging. I temporally removed it so I could snap a picture of this quilt. I really need to paint my walls an interesting color.

Over all I’m happy with this quilt. I used a pattern from Bareroots. The pattern doesn’t have a border nor scalloped edges. After making the center, I decided it needed more. I wanted to try something different. The white border has a lot of quilting. I really wanted to highlight my quilting. The plain white fabric matches the plain white fabric I used on the blocks. The quilting looks good. In the future, I’d at least use a tone-on-tone print. It would add my interest to the quilt.

I’ve wanted to do scalloped edges for a long time. I didn’t have instructions, I just did it. I need to think through the process and write up the instructions. It would be good for future endeavors. I like the finished look of piping and striped binding on the bias. I plan on using that again.

The quilt doesn’t have a final purpose. For the moment it will be stored in the closet. I need to find a proper use for it.
Now on to another project.
