Where have I been?

October disappeared right before my eyes. I spent the first two weeks working a lot. The company that I work for moved from one office space to another office space. I spear headed the cleanup and move. I can safely say I have no immediate desire to move despite wanting a larger home.

Once the unpacking finished, Ross and I left town to celebrate our eighth anniversary at Bryce Canyon National Park.

This is just a glimpse of the beautiful scenery. As a child, my parents took me to all the national and state parks in Utah. Despite their efforts, I forgot about the beauty of Southern Utah.

I’m amazed most by how relaxed I felt during the trip. I worried that my exhaustion from work would kill my desire to enjoy myself. After one good night sleep, we tackled the terrain. Hiking provoke the adventurous spirit inside me. I think we are motivated to hike the Wasatch Mountains. Why spend a lot of money traveling far from home when I live in a beautiful place?

That takes care of the first two weeks. What happened next? This is where things get a little fuzzy. I think exhaustion got the better of me. I don’t remember much. I did try to focus on one project, the Griffendorf scarf. I’m 75% finished. I have one more ball of maroon yard to knit. I need to finish the scarf this week. Other Christmas projects beckon my attention.

My FIL’s quilt remains unquilted. This will change very soon. Last night, I took a machine quilting class. Now, I can rent time on a long-arm quilting machine. Yeah! My plans: use vacation time around Thanksgiving to quilt, bind the quilt with every spare second I have, and knit my niece’s Ravenclaw scarf. Now I need inspiration on a quilt design. I can’t decide between using an overall design or a design for each block.
